Morning Prayers

This is one of the prayers that I use in my morning prayers.

Holy Father,

We have wandered away from what You have called us to be and to do. Instead of living as people who have been called by Your name, and as those who have a holy mission to pursue in this world, we foolishly define ourselves according to sinful desires, and we foolishly pursue vain goals.

We are wicked sinners who don’t even realize that we are so wicked. And as a result, our lives and our families and our churches are a shameful mess.

But we know that You are a God of amazing grace who loves to give good gifts to His children. So, we humbly ask that You would have mercy on us. We humbly ask that You would forgive us. We humbly ask that You would revive us so that we would become again the people of God You have called us to be and faithful to do what You have called us to do. We humbly ask for these things so that we would honor You as You ought to be honored. You are the great and holy God.

We are bold to ask for these things only because of Jesus, our precious Savior, through whom we pray. Amen.
