Reading of the Law of God
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of
God. Matthew 5.9
Confession of Sin
Our Father, we recognize that You
have called us to be people committed to peace. We are to pursue peace with
all. We are to be the means by which the lost find peace with You as we live and speak the Gospel before them. But we are
often satisfied with a truce with others instead of real peace. We find
ourselves mute before the lost so that they do not hear about the Prince of
Peace. We find that there is too much of our lives that is
not committed to peacemaking. We come again asking for forgiveness for our sins
and for change. We are bold to come only because of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.
Declaration of Pardon
May the Father forgive us by the death of his Son and
strengthen us to live in the power of the Spirit all our days.
Book of
Common Prayer
Remember these things, O
Jacob, and Israel, for you are my servant; I formed you; you are my servant; O
Israel, you will not be forgotten by me. I have blotted out your
transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have
redeemed you.
Isaiah 44:21-22
