Outrageous

We’re again looking at Jesus’ offer of living water. This time I want to look at the larger picture of what was going on around Jesus when He spoke. That will help you to see more clearly what Jesus was doing. And what you’ll see is that Jesus’ actions fit into a pattern found in others in the Scriptures. Listen to it again.

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”

Choose One

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.
Jesus

You cannot pursue the American Dream and the Kingdom of God at the same time. The American Dream is the pursuit of security and comfort. It's all about 'me'. The pursuit of the Kingdom of God is so very different. It's all about Jesus. And so, it calls for the willingness to sacrifice 'security and comfort'  (and anything else he requires) now - in the hope of fully enjoying everything later.
