Gratitude: Promises from God

The Bible is filled with promises that God has made to His covenant people. Actually, they all boil down to one promise: Immanuel. God promises to be with us, and He assures us of that by covenant. And 'being with' is so full of blessing. As a result, we who know God can be full of hope and joy. Our God is with us, and He will do much good as a result.

Here is a promise that I encountered. 'Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by Me from before your birth, carried from the womb; even to your old age I am He, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made and I will bear; I will carry and will save.' [Isaiah 46.3,4] I find this very comforting as I grow old and face the prospects of my body deteriorating with the difficult consequences of that.
