Reading of the Law of God
Blessed are the pure
in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5.8
Confession of Sin
Our Father, we
acknowledge that our hearts are not pure. They harbor motives that are not
right in Your sight. They conceal secrets from everyone but You. They shelter
many sins. We confess to You that we are convicted by Your Law. We are reminded
again that we are sinners. We ask that You would forgive us our sin. We know
that we can ask for this only because of Jesus. We thank You for our faithful
Savior who gives to us His purity. Amen.
Declaration of Pardon
Blessed is the one
whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man
against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no
deceit. I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said,
"I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and you forgave the
iniquity of my sin. Psalm 32.1-2,5
May God who loved
the world so much that he sent his Son to be our Saviour forgive us our sins
and make us holy to serve him in the world, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
