For Sunday

Reading of the Law of God
You shall not commit adultery. Exodus 20.14

Confession of Sin
Our Father, we come to You confronted by our sin. You call us to be chaste and pure in thought, word and deed. We confess to You that we have not been. We have broken this commandment. There are things that we do and think that would shame us if others knew. There are desires in our hearts that make us worthy of hell. We offer no excuse for our impurity. We simply cling to Christ and ask that You forgive us because of His blood. Amen.

Declaration of Pardon
Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel, for you are my servant; I formed you; you are my servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by me. I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you. Isaiah 44:21-22

Almighty God, who in Jesus Christ has given us a kingdom that cannot be destroyed, forgive us our sins, open our eyes to God's truth, strengthen us to do God's will and give us the joy of his kingdom, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
