Reading of the Law
of God
And now I ask you,
dear lady – not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we
have had from the beginning – that we love one another. And this is love, that
we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have
heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it. 2 John 1.5-6
Confession of Sin
Our Father, You have
called us to love one another and to do this according to Your commandments. We
confess that there are too many times that we just don’t want to love someone
else. There are too many times that we just want to think about ourselves and
what we want. This is sin. It is ugly. We ask that You would forgive us this
sin and that You would change us so that we would give ourselves to a real love
of our brothers and sisters. Please grant us our request for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
Declaration of
Pardon
In him we have
redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to
the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7
May the God of love
and power forgive you and free you from your sins, heal and strengthen you by
his Spirit, and raise you to new life in Christ our Lord.
