For Sunday

Reading of the Law of God
For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1.5-8

Confession of Sin
Our Father, as we look at this list of qualities we thank You for progress made over the years. You have changed us greatly. But at the same time, we regret our failure to make every effort to develop these virtues to a greater degree. Forgive us for our sin in this and grant us Your powerful grace so that we might work hard to mature in these ways and thus bring honor to our beloved Savior, Jesus. Amen.

Declaration of Pardon
If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. Psalm 130.3-4

May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
