For Sunday

Reading of the Law of God
Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 1 Corinthians 10. 14

Confession of Sin
Our Father, to our shame, we admit that we have idols. They are not idols of stone that can be seen but rather idols of the heart which are hidden. But You see them. All too often we look to them instead of looking to You. We ask that You would reveal them all to us. We ask that You would free us from their slavery. We ask that You would forgive us this great sin. We ask this in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Declaration of Pardon
Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53.4-5

May almighty God, who sent his Son into the world to save sinners, bring you his pardon and peace, now and for ever.
