Prayerlessness

The lack of the habit of prayer is a problem. God acts when we pray. He doesn't when we don't. But the solution to this problem isn't a matter of greater discipline. The lack of prayer is an expression of pride, thinking that life is doable on our own. The need, then, isn't for a new schedule or renewed resolve. The need is for repentance of this sin and the request that the Spirit change us into humble people. As we understanding reality a bit better, how weak we really are, we will find ourselves praying.
