For Sunday

Reading of the Law of God
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Matthew 5.6

Confession of Sin
Our Father, we hear Your call to yearn for what is right. But, sadly, there are times when our hunger for other things overwhelms any yearning to see Your righteousness prevail. In this we falter in our love for You. In this we sin.  We are truly sorry for how we have grieved You. We ask that You would, again, forgive us our sin. We ask that You would strengthen our love for You so that we might pursue what is right more faithfully. We are bold to ask these things only because of Jesus. Amen.

Declaration of Pardon
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2.24

May God our Father forgive us our sins, and bring us to the fellowship of his table with his saints for ever.
