Reading of the Law of God
You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet
your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or
his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's. Exodus 20.17
Confession of Sin
Our Father, we confess to You that we have coveted. We have been
dissatisfied with the good things that You have given to us. We have been jealous
when others have prospered. We have longed for things that we have no right to.
We see this as an insult to You and a rejection of Your loving plan for our lives.
We know that breaking this commandment even once merits us eternal torment. We ask
for forgiveness not because we deserve it but only because of Jesus, our Savior.
Amen.
Declaration of Pardon
Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your
sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like
crimson, they shall become like wool. Isaiah 1.18
May God our Father forgive us our sins, and bring us to the
fellowship of his table with his saints for ever.
