Reading of the Law of God
As obedient children, do
not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as He who called
you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You
shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1.14-16
Confession of Sin
Our Father, being holy is
simply not the priority for us that it should be. We are too comfortable with
our sin. In this we greatly offend You. We recognize that this is no small
matter. It is worthy of Your just penalty. But we would be bold to ask for
forgiveness. We ask this so that we might pursue the holiness that You expect
of us. Grant us our requests for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
Declaration of Pardon
If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who
could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. Psalm 130.3-4
