Do not quench the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5.19
Confession of Sin
Our Father, we fail to honor Your Spirit. We so easily doubt
that He will do anything significantly new in our lives or in the lives of
others. In this we quench the Spirit and hinder His ministry among us. Because
of this, there is much good that could happen that doesn’t. Forgive us our sin.
Change us so that we might expect great things from Your Spirit’s work in our
midst. We pray through Jesus, our faithful Savior. Amen.
Declaration of Pardon
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and
abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his
anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us
according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so
great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is
from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. Psalm 103.8-12
May God who loved the world so much that he sent his Son to
be our Saviour forgive us our sins and make us holy to serve him in the world, through
