For Sunday

Reading of the Law of God
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3.12-14

Confession of Sin
Our Father, we hear Your Law and what it calls us to be: compassionate, kind, humble, meek, patient, forbearing, forgiving, loving. We stand condemned for all the times we have chosen not to be what You call us to be. As we remember these sins of ours, we are ashamed. You deserve better. Only because of the multitude of Your promises, we are bold to ask again for forgiveness. Forgive and change us so that we might walk as Jesus walked. Amen.

Declaration of Pardon
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2.1-2

May the Father forgive us by the death of his Son and strengthen us to live in the power of the Spirit all our days.
