Reading of the Law of God
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate
hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another
and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord
has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which
binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3.12-14
Confession of Sin
Our Father, we hear Your Law and what it calls us to be: compassionate,
kind, humble, meek, patient, forbearing, forgiving, loving. We stand condemned
for all the times we have chosen not to be what You call us to be. As we
remember these sins of ours, we are ashamed. You deserve better. Only because
of the multitude of Your promises, we are bold to ask again for forgiveness. Forgive
and change us so that we might walk as Jesus walked. Amen.
Declaration of Pardon
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for
the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh
but made alive in the spirit. 1 Peter 3.18
