Missing Church

What's so bad about missing church? Not all the time. Just once in a while. You know, when something else really interesting shows up. Well, there's nothing bad about missing church - unless something supernatural happens there. And something supernatural does happen there. Church - or better, worship - is a time when the saints get to meet with God in a way that is unique. So, a sermon isn't a learned lecture but rather God speaking through a weak man. Baptism isn't a profession of faith by a convert but an assertion of ownership by God, Father, Son and Spirit. The Lord's Supper isn't a time for some reflection. It's God feeding needy souls. The benediction isn't a pastor's wish but God's blessing. This isn't just the weekly gathering of some people but the communion of the saints. And the service isn't a time to get some help with your problems but a time to respond to God, to who God is and how good He has been to you. But if you want to miss this, go right ahead. But that really makes no sense.
