Scripture to Meditate On

Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.
Psalms 119:18
Fantastic
Magnificent
Grand
Tremendous
Marvelous
Heavenly
Terrific

These are the synonyms that I found for the word 'wondrous', a word that we don't use very much anymore. They reflect the attitude of the psalmist as he considered what he might find in God's Law. It's clear that he was looking forward to what he would see.

And that gets to the first part of this sentence. Our friend knows that if he is going to be able to see these amazing things (another synonym!) it will only be if his God opens his eyes to see them. It takes more than the ability to read words to see the wonders of God's Law. But that is something that our Father actually wants us to see. So, asking Him for this makes sense. And this would be a prayer that is obviously according to God's will. So, how could He say, 'No'?
