How interesting! The
psalmist takes seriously the possibility of God forsaking him. How many
Christians even consider such a thing these days? And yet, here it is.
But that's not the
main point of this brief sentence. No, it's about God's statutes and the
importance of keeping them. Those who keep His statutes will not be forsaken.

I'm thinking that
this should prompt some important questions about our status before God and how
we are to maintain that status. However, this much seems clear. Obedience to
God's commands really is important for the Christian.
