This is a Psalm that
starts by remembering the past. The psalmist recounts how Yahweh led His people
up from Egypt ultimately arriving at Mt. Zion where He dwells with His people.
The Psalm ends by
looking to the future. Then, kings and kingdoms will come to worship this
awesome God of Israel.
We live between
these two poles, encouraged by the past and optimistic about the future.
