Comment on a Psalm

This Psalm was written by someone who feels far from home. He's crying out 'from the ends of the earth'. It just feels so awful. And it should.

What does he want? He wants a 'rock', something solid to stand on; 'refuge', a place of safety; 'a strong tower', from which to defeat his enemies.

For our psalmist friend, these all point to toward something else, something more precious: God's tent, the place of God's presence. That is the true home for this saint and all God's saints.
