Reading of the Law of God
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy
Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were
bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6.19-20
Confession of Sin
Our Father, we assume that our bodies are our own, to care
for or not as we please. But Your Word is clear. They are not ours but Yours.
Forgive us for not caring for what is Yours. Give us the desire and ability to
do better at this. We ask this through Jesus, our faithful Savior. Amen.
Declaration of Pardon
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and
abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his
anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us
according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so
great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is
from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. Psalm 103.8-12
