What an audacious claim we make. We tell others that we are the only ones that are right. Good Buddhists, Jews and Muslims have it all wrong when it comes to being restored to God. Jesus is the only way that restoration will happen. What arrogance! Why would we say such a thing? Who do we think we are? Too many Christians are just too glib about this astounding claim. We all need to ponder our words much more carefully.
And yet, what else can we do? It was Jesus who made the claim first. 'No one comes to the Father except through me.' Being one of his disciples means that we always follow the Master. And so, we need to make that claim because he told us that it is the truth. We need to state the claim graciously and gently, but we need to state it. Let's be audacious with him.
