Fame

Matthew 26.13 'Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.' Here is a famous woman, known around the world and throughout the ages but whose name we do not have. This is a kind of fame that fits. What is the purpose of her fame? Not to point to herself but to point to Jesus. In contrast we have Judas who is also known around the world and throughout the ages - and we know his name. But his 'fame' is actually infamy because the point of his memorable act was all about himself.
